Her parents were Brian O'Sullivan and Helen O'Sullivan and has a sister who is named Sinead. She was in 2012 the second woman to ever receive the So You Think You're Funny award. The surname of Bea is in honor of her father who passed away. Aisling Cliodhnadh O'Sullivan is the daughter of a Kildare woman who was born in Kildare. Born on March 16th 1984. She was the daughter of Brian O'Sullivan. Brian was a veterinarian for horses who committed suicide when Bea was three years old. She did not know what happened to him until she was 13. Bea adopted the stage name Bea to pay tribute to her father and published an article in The Guardian in 2017 about the family's suicide experience. Bea's mom Helen, who is also a jockey-trainer and former pro jockey was responsible for raising her and Sinead. Their family was in love with racing and horses. Bea was a guide at her family's involvement at the Irish National Stud in her early teens. However, she knew, that racing wasn't what she wanted to be as a profession and preferred doing.
